It is however possible with free updates that is provided by Microsoft to get these operating systems to the level that is required for the Email Server to run.

The requirements are:

The Internet connection layer.  This is provided with internet explorer 5.0 and later, which is a free download from microsoft.com web site.  Windows 95 can only go up to IE 5.5.

The Microsoft Data Access Components. The MDAC files are available from microsoft.com as a free download.  It is recommended, but not required that you install MDAC 2.7 or later.

The Microsoft Installer  The MS Installer is a free download from Microsoft.com and is required to run installations from .MSI files (this is how the downloadable Email Server is packaged)

Once these three requirements are installed, then the Email Server will install and run.
